TRAVELING THE US 2017

Hi everyone,  well I am finally getting to our trip around the US this last October with our friends Nancy and Perry.  As always, we had a fabulous time.  This year we visited The Valley of Fire, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Horseshoe Bend and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.   We had perfect weather although it was a touch cold at Bryce Canyon but it was clear and sunny so it was wonderful.  Thanks to our friends, Mike and Pat, suggesting the Valley of Fire.  The North Rim was breathtaking.

Yes, lots of pictures but this is just a few of the 700+ pictures taken on our journey.  Thanks Perry for driving our asses all over.  We loved every minute with you both!

I love the name of this road.  Those of you who drive to Vegas know this road.

Heading into Vegas this was at the side of the freeway.  Made of big boulders that are painted and stacked.  ??????

We drove through Vegas a few days after the Catastrophe here.  Just thinking of everyone.

GLAM, GLAM, GLAM!

The matching outfits were not planned but doesn't it just make the picture!

This is just the first day.  Gives an indication of the fun to come our way.
What a wonderful place to visit just outside of Vegas on the way to St. George.  Love is in the air when you get Rabbit Ears in your picture.

Flintstones, meet the Flintstones......

No words are needed.

Bathing suits next.
Voted most adorable!

When you travel with Wolfgang, there are always great animal opportunities.  I think they know he's in the car and come out to say Hi.

Traveled in true luxury.

Not typical Rockettes!

Having a great time together

They should have something like this at every state park for a picture.

Stayed overnight in St. George.  On our way to Zion and Bryce.

Got to the canyon early and thank God we did.  We had to use the trams for the canyon and had no waiting.  When we got back from our day, the lines for the trams were probably an hour wait.

Proof that we hiked in Zion.

Wild animals!

Gobble, Gobble

Leaving Zion and heading to Bryce.  Of course, we had to drive the tunnel.

Stopped in Hatch for lunch.  Really nice ladies but pretty bad food.

Perry and Nancy have never been to Bryce.  First time seeing it all.

OK, these call our names no matter where they are.  Always fun.

Went to a great cowboy show.  Lots of fun and great music.

Early morning.  Signed up for some fun.  It was just over freezing.  Gloves and Long Underwear for some of us!

Off Roading at Bryce Canyon.  It was a blast.  Perry was our driver.

Unbelievably cold and unbelievably fun!

Do you see him?

Blowing off the dust after our ride.

He's just a natural!

What do you think this crow is thinking?

See, the crow knows the Bird Man.

Do you see the Golden Eagle.  Some man was trying to say that it was a California Condor.

Of course, Christmas hats are always packed.

Stretching for all the exercise ahead.

Our signature picture everywhere we go.

Kanab, Utah.  What a great town.  Had to take a picture with this guy for our dog friends, Bubbles and Peaches.

This is a bar/restaurant we visited in Kanab.  Don't you love it.

They have a ladder to help you climb up.

This is one of the funniest things we have ever seen in a restaurant.   Competes with the Dogs.

We did a side trip to before heading to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.  We headed for Horseshoe Bend on the Colorado River.  We were lucky to get to stop and see the Glen Canyon Dam.

Hang On Perry!!!!

This is one of the scariest places I have ever been.   I do not like heights and this is a straight 1000 foot drop with nothing holding you back.

Old people and people holding children hanging over the edge.  My worst nightmare!

Oh so now you know what I meant by Horseshoe Bend.

Bring Water!

Heading through the back roads to the North Rim

The beast only gets the best food!

I don't know but I had to include it.

OMG, those hats show up everywhere and nowhere.

Spending the night at the Lodge.

Had the greatest time staying at the lodge.  They closed for the season 3 days later so it was not very crowded.  It was lovely.  If you have never been to the North Rim, it is spectacular.  The South Rim is big but the North Rim is beautiful.

Enjoying Margaritas out on the terrace looking out at the Grand Canyon.

Hmmmmm!

Hmmmm, Hmmmm!

What a great group.

Sunset begins

When I look at this picture, I see my Aunt Carol.  I did not know that the way you stand is inherited.

Is this not the most incredible tail!

Our little cabin in the woods.

Two rooms, one bathroom between.  It was so much fun.

Hey Neighbor!

Adorable

Notice the walkway on the top, yes we walked out on that.

Our favorite animal on the trip, this really beautiful bird.

Breath, breath, breath!

Heading home but stopped in Fredonia for lunch.

Talk about one stop shopping.

This was a placed recommended by the guy at the gas station.  It was great.

Had a great BLT.

Something along the way.  Really enjoyed it.

We renovated our kitchen this year.  We thought about it but realized that we would not be able to cook on no burn days.

Another Glam shot.  What a handsome guy.

Heading home through Vegas

Biggest Solar park, I believe, in North America just outside from Vegas

Stopped for breakfast at Peggy Sue's.  Lots of fun.  Recommended by Huell Howser.

So that's it.  Enough right but it was hard to leave out so much of the fun we had.  Here's to more adventures with the Blemmings!
